D.O.D: Mx Wander’s Quest to Find a “New Normal”
Mx Wander is a queer folk-punk musician based in Philadelphia. Mx Wander is a nonbinary trans man, and they attempt to tackle the confusion of gender and sexual identity through an effortless DIY sound with honest lyrics.
With the candidness of a close friend, Mx Wander delivers tracks about the struggles of addiction and relatable breakup anthems. Even his more melancholic songs, like “New Normal,” give off a feeling of comfort, as if you’re sitting beside him as he laments the challenges of life over soothing acoustic guitar.
Check out the recording of their live show in Pittsburgh titled Live at Mr. Roboto Project. It features songs from some of their solo albums, like Long Time Gone, along with tracks from their collaborative albums No Boyfriend November and Split Peas. Give him a follow on Instagram @mxwander_.
