Quick Thoughts On The Always Underperforming 76ers

No, we should not trade Embiid.

Enough with that foolishness.

The man is an MVP. A total game changer and he played the series with one knee and one eye. And he never gave up. He could have. We would have understood. He was guarding Jalen Brunson full court at the end of Game 4 on one knee trying to make something happen. Dude did not quit.

But he should sit the first 60 games of next season.

Alongside Embiid and Maxey, we need a dominant wing. The guy we thought Tobias Harris was going tobi when we signed him. (see what I did there…) Someone who can create their own opportunities and who we can rely on night in and night out. Jimmy Butler comes to mind.

Harden was not that guy. He’s an offense eater and tends to be a ghost in the playoffs. Is Durant done with the Suns yet? Should we draft Bronny to get Bron? Siakim. DeRozan. Paul George. A stalwart backup for Embiid is a must as well. Demarcus Cousins, Andre Drummond, Dwight Howard, Wilt Chamberlain. Somebody with presence.

We’re a healthy Joel and a third star away from making a real run. There are plenty of ways for Morey to successfully restructure this team but they need to get younger, hungrier, and faster.
