The 3-0 Eagles Make for A Really Great Pair Of Jeans

Top to bottom, waist to ankle, they look good.

The pockets are deep and warm enough to stuff your hands in on a cold day—the offensive weaponry is extensive; the belt line is strong but flexible—both the O-Line & D-Line are stout; the legs are properly tapered, not too tight, not too loose—the tight ends and linebackers are talented and effective in both run & pass football; and the hole in the back pocket was sewn up by the off-season secondary acquisitions of Bradberry and Gardner-Johnson; and the belt itself holding up the jeans is comfortable, properly fastened—the coaching staff appears sure of the team’s identity. It’s just a matter of whether or not the fly (Jalen Hurts) is zipped up tight or hanging open.

They could be GREAT jeans is what I’m saying.

The kind you’d wear to any event, look sharp and feel comfy. Whether it’s a trip to the grocery store, a beach wedding, or to a GODDAMN SUPER BOWL.

They have the potential to go wherever they please. Just keep ‘em clean. Keep a lint roller on patrol—limit turnovers, unnecessary penalties, and the like.

More directly speaking, the Birds look pretty darn good.

The defense swarms the ball, the offense has rhythm, properly dispersing the football, the lines are big and athletic, but most importantly, our QB looks like a very, VERY legit starting NFL QB. He goes through reads, makes the right decisions (or at least limits both the damaged and consistency of bad ones), and continues to show that he’s a hell of a leader for this Philadelphia football team.

Probably the most important thing is the fact that we all knew (by we I mean the fans, the media, the team, and Hurts himself) that this team has potential and that so much of the team’s success and failure would come down to the QB play and how does Jalen respond?

He goes out and gets NFC Player of the Month.

“It’s a good start. That’s all that it is, a start…”

It’s so early in the year, but the NFC doesn’t look terribly scary. The Rams, Bucs, Packers, 49ers, Cardinals are probably the best out. The Rams and Bucs will probably start and finish the year as the scariest. Could be better but it could be much worse. All I’m saying is that it’s a good year to make a run, laddies and gents.

It’s a good year to make a run.

Capping an Era

2022 could very likely be Kelce and BG’s last. It might be the last of Fletcher Cox’s, as a premiere DT. Lane probably has another 1-2 out of pure talent and lengthened athleticism.

It’s an awesome team to root for. Led by a coach who makes a significant effort to show his love for the Eagles and the city, but present and past. He also looked pretty far out of his league at times in his first 8 games but bounced back strong. A GM who’s been bullied for draft picks by one of the top 2 toughest fanbases (and we’re probably not number two), but we’ve finally got a fantastic WR corp and beyond that, he’s been pretty damn good.

Lots to look forward to this season. Let’s hope it continues in a healthy and historical fashion.

I don’t know when the last time we had 24pts in the first half of every game (gotta step it up in the second) and a 9 sack performance (thanks Carson).

It’s very early. However the season turns out, I know we’ll all handle it well, like the classy and knowledgeable football fans we’ve always been.
