Fear & Loathing in America: An Assassination Attempt, An Alzheimer’s Ceding & A Mini Y2K
The favorite to win the United States presidency survived an assassination attempt by an inch or two. The party of the current President was begging him to drop out before he finally ceded and now America sits in wait… will there be a mini primary or will the Democrats make the decision without giving the country true say? There is still no ceasefire in Gaza nor Ukraine. Microsoft is STILL having a Y2K moment.
America is in motion. A hamster wheel on fire.
Trump was saved by nothing more than a slight head tilt.
Inches from a bullet in the brain. It appears that the Secret Service and local police were both notified of a man on the roof but local spectators and authorities acted entirely too slow—or didn’t act at all—until the shot rang out.
How does a kid get a shot off in plain sight with a long rifle of that size, from only 150 yards away, a reasonable fairway-to-green distance, while people are calling out his position and the place is littered with police and secret service?
It reeks of incompetence.
But let’s not pretend there’s not a whiff of conspiracy in that stinky stank.
Because incompetence at that level feels exceptionally dumb. So dumb that it’s hard to believe is nothing more than a fuck up. A fuck up of that level of monumental might just be a look the other way.
Today’s hearing was a joke. The Director of the Secret Service, Kimberly Cheatle (no relation to Don, according to my research), went on to provide just about zero information on any relevant and important questions in regards to the sequence of events and whether or not the local authorities were able to identify the threat before it happened.
She essentially stated that investigations are still ongoing and plead the fifth without pleading the fifth. Nine whole days after the event took place. It should also be noted that Cheatle has refused to resign, despite being asked to do so. What’s heir apparent is that the Secret Service is not being transparent.
The New York Times reported that fixing the Microsoft software shut down could require a computer-by-computer fix
It has affected hospitals, airports, and businesses all over the world. A full weekend went by and it’s still an ongoing situation, as expected.
Maybe it affected you, maybe it didn’t. But if this is the kind of thing that can happen as easy as it did this time, it will again.

Both of these global events could have caused catastrophic waves of turmoil in the political sphere, the economic climate, and daily life as we know it.
Both seemed entirely preventable if the QA team in each situation did their job.
Both likely exposed some of America’s weaknesses and it wouldn’t surprise me if we were tested yet again.

RFK is my favorite of the group, but, as we’ve seen, it matters how you speak on the microphone and good golly miss molly I don’t know if I’d be able to listen to anything he says for more than a few minutes.
