UFC Fight Night Sept. 7 in Vegas — Sean Brady Headlines; Petroski On Card
Big weekend for Philly sports right here.
The return of the Birds on Friday night in Brazil.
Another vital Phils series on the path to Red October.
Two big fights for Philly MMA standouts Sean Brady and Andre Petroski.
But unlike a week 1 football game, or a 3-game baseball series, every UFC fight is a moment, a big one, for every fighter.
A single performance can put you on the map or on the hot seat.
For someone like Sean Brady, who is the 8th ranked Welterweight fighter going up against the 6th ranked fighter in Gilbert Burns, a submission or KO victory could easily put him in contention for a title shot or a fight against another top ranked contender.
On the undercard, Andre Petroski looks to start stacking wins again after a unanimous decision victory in Denver in June. He started 5-0 in the UFC but had back-to-back “flukey” losses against Michel Pereira (on less than 10 days notice) and Jacob Malkoun. Pereira is already in the top 15 Middleweight rankings after debuting in the division against Petroski. Against Malkoun, Petroski won the first round and looked good early in the second before injuring himself going in for a takedown against Malkoun’s hip bone.
