Songs That Should Be On The Radio Vol. 6 — Philly Music Scene

Let’s get into our latest edition of Radio Songs — a proper mix of rock, glam, rap, and edm.

\ Enjoy! /

Humilitarian

“God & Other Drugs”

Their new album Intra is a fun listen start to finish. The cover art matches the dreamy rock n’ roll landscape the group brings forth. The combination of the pitter-patter snare, the dancing guitar, and the blissful vocals really makes you want to take some mushrooms and experience god & other drugs.

4EVR

“CHERRY (U & I)”

The sloppy catchy intro is what I’d call interesting. A mini “wtf” moment before the rhythm kicks in and brings forth the head nod. With both female and male vocalists the vibes range from Travis Scott to Daft Punk to Elle Goulding. This is no question a dancefloor SMASH.

CLOSE DRIVE

“Bed Head”

God I love this guitar. I don’t know who it reminds me of but I know it wakes the senses. My foot was tapping instantly. While I don’t think the music video matches the song. It’s a pretty visual to enjoy while grooving to an easy tune to love. THAT GUITAR THO!

The bul Bey

“Freedom Song”

(FT. SAM LIVE & TAYLOR KELLY)

The Bul Bey flows over chaotic symbols with a strong message and passion in his voice. The very talented Taylor Kelly lends her vocals to the chours which creates a special dynamic on the song and nice switch up for the listener. This is one of those local rap songs that emulates the genre itself in all the best ways.

Zilla Rocca

“Make the Sickness, Sell the Cure”

Classic hip hop right here. Bar after bar. It sounds like Zilla and Curly found a beat online, wrote some hard bars, spit that shit, mixed it and put it out there. Sometimes that’s exactly what music should be, a moment of exceptional talent. That’s exactly what you get on this song. Not to mention a telling a track title.

Caring Less

“Slow Down”

Oh I love this tune. The slow bop leading up to sing-a-long chorus. The song gets better and better as you trot on through it. “Sensual attitude” is the phrase that comes to mind. Looking forward to more from Caring Less in the future!
