The 2024 Birds Are Officially Here; Depth Chart Breakdown & Record Prediction

A quick glance at the schedule and the starters. A quick note on both the offense and the defense before we get to the record prediction of…..

The 2024 Birds

Another year of Super Bowl or bust football. As heartbreaking as it can be, it’s still been pretty fuckin’ sweet to be a Birds fan all these years. Hype as I’ve ever been for another season of Fall Ball.

Let’s GOOOOOOOOOO BIRDS babayyyyyyy!!!

The Offense is loaded with skill players. Kelce was replaced by his drafted and groomed replacement and Mekhi Becton, albeit an underachiever with the Jets, could flourish under the guidance of Jeff Stoutland and on one of the best lines in the NFL.

So long as everyone stays healthy and Jalen/Sirrianni/Moore are on the same page, this should be a Top 3 offense in the league no question. The Dotson signing was just icing on the cake.

The Defense has more questions to be answered. The secondary is now loaded with talent, but time will tell if it translates. The safeties look locked in with Blankenship and CJGJ. Should one of them falter or get injured we’ve got solid backups in DeJean and Bradberry. If Devin White and Zack Baun play to their potential we should be fine at LB and another year for Nakobe Dean to improve has me excited as well. The D-Line was disappointing, especially in the second half of the year. Another year of improvement for Carter and Davis should yield results. The edge rushers appear limited to Sweat and Huff, with BG giving his all in the 10-20 plays he gets each game. I think it will come down to a much needed breakout year from Huff, Nolan Smith, or Jalyx Hunt.

This defense could be Top 5 or Bottom 5 and it wouldn’t shock me either way.

The Schedule

Prediction: 12-5 …. but 15-2 wouldn’t shock me either.

Easy home schedule. Tough road schedule. Overall I’d say it’s pretty balanced but on the easier side.

Toughest games: Dallas, Cincinnati, Baltimore.

Sneaky toughest: The first two.

I think Green Bay is going to be a top 4 team in the NFC this year and there are a lot of changes happening in Philadelphia. Just might need a week or two to really start to iron them out. Atlanta has plenty of talent. Really wish we could’ve gotten Judon. That would’ve solidified an absolutely PERFECT offseason from our beloved GM.
