Phight Club: Brady Takes Down England’s Finest in London; Ruziboev KO; Petroski Extends Win Streak; More Local Results

The Philly MMA team continues its continues to standout and showout in the UFC. Each and every one of its fighters has come back from losses in spectacular fashion.

Sean Brady dismantled Kelvin Gastelum and unanimously defeated Gilbert Burns after taking his first and only loss to now champion, Belal Muhammed.

Joe “Bodybagz” Pyfer made his Hermansson loss look like nothing more than a bump in the road after he starched Andre Barriualt and barely broke a sweat. This all comes shortly after a dominating stoppage on Gerald Meerschaert and an impressive submission win over Alhassan.

Pat Sabatini rebounded with a climbing submission finish on the much taller Jonathan Pearce. You could say that in a quick fight with Diego Lopes, Sabatini looked good for half of it. Not too bad against an opponent who will have a say for the belt on April 12th.

Just over a month ago, Andre Petroski extended his win streak to 3 with his most complete striking performance to date against 7-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion, Rodolfo Vieira.

The Uzbekistan-transplant Nursulton Ruziboev continued to impress with a quick work KO of Eric McConico.

Sean Brady

vs.

Leon Edwards

March 22nd IN LONDON TOWN

The NE Philly Native said it himself, BIG BUSINESS.

The UFC returns to England. London Town is well-represented throughout the card and London Town will surely show the fuck out.

Brady looks to shut Edwards and the crowd the fuck down.

The NE Philly native is the #5 ranked Welterweight in the world. He will take on the hometown favorite, Leon Edwards, who is also the #1 Welterweight and its most recent former champion.

They will headline the jam-packed 02 Arena UFC Fight Night on Saturday, March 22nd.

Winner will likely claim the next title shot. Not since the active Philly OG’s—the “is he really retired” Paul Felder from Ridley and Kensington legend of the game, and champion, Eddie Alvarez—has there been a bigger main event UFC matchup that featured a local fighter.

JOE PYFER

vs.

KELVIN GASTELUM

March 29 IN MEXICO CITY - CANCELLED

Pyfer came down with an illness the night before the fight. Which per his own description on Instagram sounded a lot like food poisoning. There’s hope the two can try again at UFC 314, possibly at a 195 catch weight.

This fight, should it happen, is a certified slugfest. Pyfer is a man on a mission and his favored to clean up the scraps of Gastelum that Brady left of him.

Not unlike the Pyfer —> Petroski clean up of Meerschaert, and any hopes he might’ve had of contending.

Pat sabatini

vs.

Joanderson Brito

April 5th in Las Vegas

Pat Sabatini looks like he puts a new weapon in his arsenal every time he steps into the ring. Wouldn’t surprised me if looked better than ever against the surging Brazilian who’s name definitely isn’t Burrito, which is exactly what it sounds like if you say it with a Rocky accent. Ayo, Jo Bu-reeto.

Andre Petroski

vs.

Bo Nickel

Probably Never IN State College, PA
