EMYNE’s Angelic Pipes and Honest Bars… (plus a lady MC Mount Rushmore to argue About)

The overall musical package Emyne has put together at only 21 years old is exceptional.

For an NBA analogy—her artist package is Kyrie handles level at the same age—still early and evolving, but already NUTS.

Her bars are bricks that stack line by line. It’s a confident and honest flow, the benchmark for any valid emcee’s foundation. And the pipes!! She can deliver a soothing hymn with a welcoming softness, like a musical hug.

The versatility to break hearts with angelic pipes and do the same, in a very different manner, with raw, callous bars makes her music incredibly intriguing. You can’t predict it.

Sports analogy number 2 — as an NBA Draft prospect, her pro comp would be Lauryn Hill.

Who I believe is rightfully considered the Jordan of the Lady MC/Singer genre… a combo guard, if you will:

Quick female MC Mount Rushmore — Lauryn Hill, Nicki Minaj, Missy Elliot, Eve… that’s right, EVE, bitches.

This is assuming Beyonce, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, are not applying to this particular Mount Rushmore… they’re on in the other Dakota.

The difference between these two separate Rushmores is, of course, the expresions carved by the dynamite sculptor — Bey n dey are belting out a massive note. Lauryn & Missy and them are mean muggin.

Okay, NBA analogies over.

Back to Emyne, who I actually think has potential in that realm.

Just from following on the gram, what I appreciate most about this talent is the way she embraces it. She puts out creative content that showcases her skills in one way or another with confidence and consistency.

She understands the internet and is equally capable of a deep, honest ballad, as she is a catchy Tik Tok tune… the likes of which, should be respected. It’s just an evolving version of pop. Feel how you feel about “pop” music but there’s a reason those songs tend to be deliciously catchy, especially on the Tikkity Tokkity, and it’s usually because they’re fuckin’ good.

So let’s showcase those talents:

Pipes & Versatility: Catchy & Committed

Absolutely love her song, “Breathe” below.

I first came across Emyne’s stuff online. She was singing at an event for a homeless shelter. Just absolutely tearing the roof off the place with some angelic pipes. Then, not long after, at a different event, she’s rapping on stage acapella better than most of your favorite rappers.

Don’t believe me? See for yourself.

She’s a true creative, even has a side business selling her bracelets, art pieces, and more. We’re always excited to see what’s next from her.
