An Angry Eagles Article For a Team that Should Be 3-0

This Eagles team is FRUSTRATING.

Head to toe, from the players to the coaches to the front office. Yes, even Howie can get some of this.

Early on we’re seeing the same fixable mistakes — unnecessary turnovers, bad play calling, poor decision making and clock management, and vastly underachieving free agents.

ALL of this is fixable.

Hurts needs to learn to throw the ball away and/or not force the play. This is something he did very little of in 2022 and very lot of in 2023, so let’s pray for growth… or a return to the 2022 version of his ball security journey.

It was great seeing him adjust to the blitz and beat it in week 1, but has regressed since in that regard since. He’s also had trouble getting through his reads and missed several open targets without pressure this week.

When that careless play is compounded by unnecessarily aggressive fourth down calls and poor clock management that takes points off the board and spins field position and opportunity into the opponent’s favor it’s even more aggravating.

Thank god the defense finally showed up or it would’ve been a rout. We still need a pass rush and that brings me to Howie… how did he not get Judon when he was in Philly and was sent to Atlanta for a 3rd rounder. Huff was the worst pickup ever and leads me to ask the question, could we not have kept Reddick? I’m not doing the salary cap homework on that but we could sure use him right now. Loved seeing Carter and Davis step up but I’m convinced Davis is forever going to be average or below average at this point. It’s year 3 and he played great against the Saints but I’m still skeptical.

When the coach making these shitty calls sounds like a moron in his presser it furthers the pestering aggravation.

I’m sure it’s happened before but it’s not often that a fanbase calls for the coach’s head after a win and a 2-1 start.

  • The bad 4th down calls

  • The 60+ field goal attempt giving the Saints a chance to score before half

  • Not addressing the team after the Falcons loss

  • Teenage sideline antics

It all adds up to angry WIP callers.

It’s a new offense. A new defense. A new team.

Sure hope it’s a new team because it doesn’t look dissimilar to last year’s squad, besides the addition of Saquon.
